A Langham Publishing book, which continues John Stott’s legacy of radical discipleship, has won a prestigious book award in the US.
‘Living Radical Discipleship’ is a collection of essays by Chris Wright (our Ministries Director & Global Ambassador) and others. Christianity Today has given it the ‘Book of the Year Award’ in the ‘Christian Living & Discipleship’ category.
The book’s essays are written by a diverse range of people who have been profoundly influenced by John Stott. They prompt Christians to consider how their faith drives their approach to pressing contemporary issues. These include climate change and social justice.
Delighted to receive recognition
Dr Laura S. Meitzner Yoder edited the book, which was the outcome of a symposium held at Wheaton College, US, in 2019.
The award is a first for Langham Publishing. Its Director, Luke Lewis, said: “We are delighted to see one of our titles receive recognition with this prestigious book award, alongside so many other great books recently published.
“It seems fitting as we near the end of the year in which we have celebrated the centenary of John Stott’s birth, that we have a book inspired by his own call ‘that faith commitments must be evident in the everyday lives of Christ’s followers.’

‘Exemplary Christian thinking’
Matt Reynolds, books editor for Christianity Today, said the award-winning books represent “some of the year’s most exemplary Christian thinking”.
The magazine is dedicating the majority of its January/February issue to the Book Awards and will include excerpts from several of the finalists and winners.
